Construction of "Public aquarium" should start in 2006 in the caves beneath the Tašmajdan park.

"Public aquarium” will not look like those in the European cities, because it is not designed as the museum of modern arts, in which one will be able only to see the exhibit. On the contrary, it will offer the picture of life under the water where visitors will take active part.

One of four caves, in which the aquarium will be settled, was once underwater cave of the Panonian Sea. Its looks will not be changed, but the huge transparent aquariums, about 8 meters tall, will be set in it and they will contain sharks, lobsters, moray eel, sea horses..

The entire environment will be completed by specific scenography and sound effects, which will create impression of true diving.

The first phase implies organization of 400 of total of 1,500 m of underground space.
