PayPal in Serbia in 2010

In the talks with the Ministry of Telecommunications and IT Society, US company eBay announced it would include Serbia in its system of electronic payments through PayPal in 2010.

The Ministry of Telecommunications and IT Society have announced that it made many contacts in 2009 with interested users, domestic banks and foreign companies that offer the services of mediation in safe realization of financial transactions on the Internet, including PayPal, MoneyBookers and others.

In association with the National Bank of Serbia, all doubts concerning the provision of these payment services have been eliminated, while the method for provision of e-payment services to the citizens of Serbia is being developed in association with local commercial banks.

As company eBay announced earlier in the communication with the Ministry of Telecommunication and IT Society, the exact date when PayPal services will start functioning in Serbia depends exclusively on the company's plans, which are brought in accord with its business policy.

E-payment system PayPal was founded in 1998 and it became the property of eBay in 2002. PayPal is available in Europe since 2004.
