No new owner for Sugar Plant in Sremska Mitrovica - Agroglob's offer rejected

The Bankruptcy Manager of Sugar plant Šećerana in Sremska Mitrovica, Živko Radukić, rejected to sell this factory to Agroglob from Novi Sad by direct agreement for 207m RSD. Namely, after three unsuccessful public auctions for sale of Sremska Mitrovica-based Šećerana in bankruptcy, the Board of Creditors made the decision on December 7, 2009, to sell this juristic person by direct agreement.

However, the Board of Creditors authorized Bankruptcy Manager Živko Radukić to carry out the sale by applying "National Standard no. 5", which means that the selling price can not be lower than 50% of the estimated value of Šećerana in Sremska Mitrovica, which amounts to 986,312,590 RSD.

Since Agroglob from Novi Sad offered 207m RSD, the Bankruptcy Manager had to refuse the offer because he had no consent from the Board of Creditors for such sale.

Therefore, the destiny of Sremska Mitrovica-based Sugar plant in bankruptcy is still uncertain because no company other than Agroglob answered the ad for sale by direct agreement, so that the Board of Creditors will have to find a new way to sell this factory in order for the creditors to be able to collect, at least, part of their claims.
