Conference “Risks of a New Age: Influence on Business and Property” on June 23 in Belgrade

Cyber risks, climate change, management responsibility, and all in the context of increased risks due to the pandemic, are the topics of the conference “Risks of a New Age: Influence on Business and Property”, which will be held on June 23 at Hotel Crowne Plaza in Belgrade.

The number of cyber attacks grew by 33% a month on average during the pandemic, and health institutions, financial institutions, companies and citizens were targeted, the press release says. The total damage on an annual level is measured in thousands of billions of dollars and is increasing with each year.

The damage from climate change increases by 6% on average each year, and in Serbia, it is already measured in billions of euros: agriculture and electric power sector are the most jeopardized. Although the reduced movement of people during the pandemic has led to a certain degree of environmental recovery, experts claim that his has not had a substantial impact on the planet's recovery and that the damage from climate change is still a bigger threat than the pandemic, for both the business and the citizens.

Wrong management decisions can cost the company millions. How do the domestic regulations treat managerial responsibility and can a wrong decision put local managers into debt slavery?

The domestic companies which inform themselves of these risks will have a greater chance to protect their business from financial risks, the organizers say.

The aim of the conference is for business people in Serbia to look into the risks that threaten their business in the era marked by the fourth technological revolution, what kind of prevention is possible and how to carry it out and how to compensate for the financial losses if the damage happens. This information will help them plan their operations better and define their budgets and investments in prevention and insurance.

The conference is meant for top management, company owners, financial directors, risk managers at companies and public enterprises, as well as decision-makers in local self-governments.
