Serbia and China Sign Memorandum on Space Technologies – Joint Construction of Satellite Systems Planned

Minister without portfolio responsible for innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic and Administrator of the National Space Administration of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Kejian signed, during a video-conference meeting on Friday, June 5, a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of innovation in the research and use of space for peaceful purposes.


The memorandum envisages the improvement of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and China in the development and use of space technologies, satellite systems and the Earth Observing System, with applications in the field of smart agriculture, telecommunications, ecosystems, remote sensing systems and geolocation positioning.

Popovic stated that the partners from China are willing to put all their knowledge and experience in the field of development and application of space technologies at the disposal of Serbia, the government says in a press release.

Zhang Kejian underlined that Serbia has excellent engineers and voiced hope that a large number of Serbian scientists will take part in the joint projects of China and Serbia in this area.
