Fly Niki starts flying from Belgrade to Vienna on February 1st - tickets at promo price of 29 EUR

- I will personally fly the airplane to Belgrade on Tuesday, February 2nd - Niki Lauda, celebrated Formula 1 driver and the owner of airliner Fly Niki, exclusively reveals for Novosti. His airplanes will start flying from Belgrade to Vienna on Monday.

Fly Niki is the first low-budget air transportation company to obtain the license from the Directorate for Civil Aviation of Serbia since the Republic Parliament ratified the Open Sky Agreement.

When asked what he expected from Belgrade-Vienna line, Lauda said that the first year would be ended with positive zero.

- New flights usually do not make profit in the first year. After that, the Belgrade-Vienna line should become profitable - says Lauda.

- Online booking started few weeks ago and it goes fine. By the way, passengers from the capital city can fly with Fly Niki via Vienna to Innsbruck, Zurich, Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover, Minster, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Nurnberg and Munich.

Lauda claims that his company has always been making profit, but he also points out that year 2009 was the best year ever. Fly Niki will announce its business results in few weeks.

Company Fly Niki was founded in 2003. Lauda owns 76%, while Air Berlin owns 24% of the company. The fleet comprises 12 airplanes - Airbus 319, 320, 321 and Embarer 190, while procurement of another 5 airplanes is in the pipeline for year 2010.

SIX TIMES A WEEK

Fly Niki will be flying on Belgrade - Vienna line six times a week. The promo price of one-way tickets is 29 EUR, tax included, but the price grows as the time of departure is approaching. The passengers will have free lunch and drink and they will not have to pay for the luggage that weighs less than 20 kg, which is usually not offered by other low-cost companies.
