- Croatia and Montenegro are not giving up the agreed route of the Adriatic-Ionic highway, about 100 km of which should be built in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Rudo Vidović, the Minister of Trade and Communications of BH, told daily newspaper Dnevni List.

The information has emerged lately that Croatia gave up the initial plan and decided to have the highway built alongside the Adriatic Sea.

- The route, officially, remains the same. We talked about the Adriatic-Ionic highway with our Croatian and Montenegrin counterparts at the last meeting and agreed that it was of exceptional importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro - Vidović pointed out.

He confirmed that Croatia might slow down construction of highways due to the financial crisis, but since Croatia had done the most work of all the countries of the Adriatic-Ionic Initiative, no major problem was expected to emerge. The Council of Ministers has already declared this highway as the route of special interest to the country.
