- In an extensive action during the last few weeks, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia confiscated computers with illegal copies of software - the Business Software Alliance (BSA) announced today.
As BSA learns, during the raids in Belgrade and the provinces of Serbia, the police discovered computers with installed pirated software that were ready for delivery, as well as installation CDs with pirated software. Appropriate criminal charges will be pressed against these companies, while the computers with illegal software and installation CDs have already been confiscated.
In addition to the damage that is inflicted to the copyrights holders, the sale and use of pirated software represent a big risk to the computer users as well. This way of trade in software is also an example of unfair competition against the companies who offer legal software products with their computers.
