Bambi Banat achieves record results - successful operations in 2009 in spite of crisis

- Confectionery company Bambi Banat registered the 9.7% growth of total sales and turnover of 6.6 billion RSD in 2009 - Belgrade-based Concern, member of Danube Foods Group, announced yesterday (January 27, 2010).
Last year's income from the sales in the country reached the amount of 5.3 billion RSD, which is 13% more than in 2008.
When it comes to export, 80% of products for export are delivered to the countries of the region, while the rest goes to European, American, Canadian and Australian markets, and it should be mentioned that the sales of Bambi's products in the markets of European Union grew by 16% in 2009.
- The year behind us was also marked by the investments of 3.2m EUR in production units and infrastructure, most of which was invested in the new factory in Vršac - Miroslav Miletić, the CEO of the Concern, said when presenting the results of Bambi Banat in 2009.
He added that, thanks to those investments, 4.6m EUR worth of savings had been registered.
The President of the Concern's Administrative Board, Rade Pribićević, pointed out that Bambi Banat had managed to keep all 1,200 workers and enrich the assortment with 49 new products in the year of the economic crisis.
Pribićević said that the company's goals for 2010 included realization of the white chocolate production project, further savings and rationalization of business, as well as new attempts at expansion in foreign markets, especially in EU.
