- International restaurant chain Amrest has invested about 850,000 EUR in two KFC fast-food restaurants in Belgrade and plans new investments in Serbia - said Dragoljub Jakić, CEO of Amrest.
He told Beta agency that the company was ready to open new restaurants in Serbia, which, as he explained, people in Amrest liked to call "fast service" restaurants, and added that the company had both capital and personnel for that project.
- Whether and how many new KFC restaurants will be opened this year depends exclusively on the availability of the locations that meet the company's standards - said Jakić.
- The level of investments will depend on the type of restaurant since the amount of investment in a restaurant within a shopping center is not the same as the amount of investment in a drive-in facility - Jakić explained.
- The arrival of Amrest's fast-food restaurants Burger King and coffee shops Starbucks in the market of Serbia will depend on the economic growth and stability of domestic market - said Jakić.
CEO of Amrest in Serbia said that 50 people was working in KFC restaurants in Belgrade and that over 500,000 guests had been served in Serbia over the previous two years.
Jakić expressed expectation that the Law on Food Safety would contribute to organization of the market in Serbia and disable the work of the facilities with low level of hygiene and food safety.
