Italian company Logik will work on the feasibility study for intermodal transportation-logistics terminal that will be built in Free Zone Pirot.
The contract on cooperation in elaboration of the study has been signed by the CEO of Free Zone Pirot, Dragan Kostić, Mayor Vladan Vasić and Zeno de Agostino, a representative of Italian company Logik.
Total value of the project is 174,000 EUR and it will be financed mainly from European funds.
CEO of Free Zone Pirot said that, in case the feasibility study by the Italian company was positive, the transportation-logistics center would be built at 10 ha of land in Free Zone.
- Our zone is situated alongside Corridor 10 and in the vicinity of Corridor 8 and Corridor 4. That complex would comprise the container terminal, large number of warehouses and the terminal for reloading of goods from freight cars to trucks and further transportation - said Kostić.
The representative of the Italian company said that his company had great experience, not only in preparation of documentation, but also in construction of such centers.
According to the words of the Mayor of Pirot, that project would position Pirot as the first transportation-logistics center in Serbia.
- That would also improve the position of Pirot and the reputation it enjoys with investors who would have another big motive to come and invest in this town - said Vasić.
