However, without a local airline carrier, regular services are not expected to resume before June, as most airline companies in Europe are not carrying out flights, Seebiz reports.
The airport operator Fraport Slovenia has announced that it welcomes the government's decision, “as the lifting of restrictions is now of crucial importance for the operating planning of airlines' flights.”
– Most airline carriers have canceled their passenger flights to our airport until the end of May. Regardless of that fact, in the past days, we have been preparing for the arrival of the first passengers and carrying out the necessary security measures for the relaunching of passenger traffic – the press release says.
The airport in Ljubljana closed on March 17 for all commercial flights in an attempt to stop the spreading of the coronavirus pandemic.
