SIEPA and Chamber of Commerce of Serbia take Serbian companies to FIA in Algeria - deadline for applications is February 26th

In association with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS), the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Serbia (SIEPA) will financially support and organize participation of Serbian companies in the most significant trade fair in Algeria. International Trade Fair FIA (Foire Internationale d`Alger), at which the products from all industrial branches are presented, will be held between June 2nd and 7th, 2010, and local companies will present themselves at the National booth of Serbia.

FIA exists for 42 years and it represents the leading international trade fair in the north of African continent. That fair gathers 800,000 businessmen from Africa, Europe and Asia every year. About 35% of exhibitors at FIA come from over 40 countries, mainly from China, France, Italy and Germany.

Algeria is the second largest country on African continent and, also, Serbia's most important partner in Africa. However, the foreign trade exchange between the two countries is at low level. Over the last few years, that cooperation has been intensified, which contributed to constant growth of Serbian export that grew by 92.2% in 2008.

- Organization and participation of Serbian companies in FIA should enable Serbia's comeback to Algeria where domestic companies were among the leading partners in field of civil engineering, metal, mechanical and electric industry in the 1980's and 1990's - it is stated in SIEPA's announcement.
