As he pointed out, China is fast becoming the third largest foreign trade partner of Serbia and will shortly be able to compete with Germany, the country's biggest foreign trade partner.
He supports this with the data showing that, last year, the biggest foreign trade exchange was recorded with China, amounting to USD 2.8 billion, which is 25% more than in 2018. As he says, in 2018, the growth was four times what it was in 2012.
– And in the first three months of this year, there's an increase by as much as 237% compared to the most successful year so far, 2019 – Vucic said after a conversation with the Chinese ambassador, Chen Bo.
Vucic also said that Serbia had been offered an honorary place at the Shanghai Expo, the large annual international export fair, to be held this November.
– Serbia has accepted this and we are convinced that we will present our country in the best way possible – Vucic said.
He also said that he had talked to the Chinese ambassador about the current infrastructure projects and the industry and once again thanked HBIS and Zijin for, as he said, their successful operations. He added that Zijin “supports the eastern Serbia”.
Vucic announced that a video conference between the national coordinators as part of the cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, “17+1”, would be held soon.
The Serbian president said that the country's health minister, Zlatibor Loncar, would take part in the health discussion within the conference, given the topic's importance to Europe and China.
