According to internet portal Seebiz.eu, the tender documentation for privatization of a part of Port "Bar" has been purchased by the companies from Beirut and Dubai, and Montenegro expects that the companies from Serbia and Great Britain will also buy the tender documentation soon.
In October 2009, Montenegrin Privatization Council announced the tender for sale of 54.05% of stocks of Bar-based company "Container Terminal and General Freights", with the allotment of 30-year concessions, and the tender for sale of whole capital of companies "Maritime Affairs" and "Security and Fire Protection", which belong to Port "Bar", with the allotment of concessions on the same period. The tenders are open prior to February 1st.
Providing that they buy the tender documentation at the price of 20,000 EUR and sign the confidentiality agreement, all companies that have been reloading minimum 2m tons of general freight per year over the last five years can bid on the tender. The condition is also that the bidder registered minimum 250m EUR worth of incomes in 2009, as well as that it operated with profit in the previous three years.
The deposit, that is, the guarantee for participation in the tender for "Maritime Affairs" and "Security" amounts to 50,000 EUR.
Port "Bar" registered net losses of 381,000 EUR in the first half of the last year. According to the business report, total incomes of the company amounted to about 9m EUR. The port's annual reloading capacity is about 5m tons of goods.
