MIHAJLOVIC: Deadline Extension Not Expected, Belgrade-Novi Sad High-Speed Railway to be Finished by October 2021

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today that she expected the Belgrade-Novi Sad section (“where a trip will take around 25 minutes”) of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway to be completed by October 2021, the ministry says in a press release.

She said on TV Happy that no deadline extension is expected on the two sections of the high-speed railway between Belgrade and Novi Sad, where works are carried out by Chinese and Russian companies, and added that those were among the most active construction sites in Serbia.

– We believe that the works on the section between Novi Sad and Subotica, planned for March or April, can begin this autumn, which is a minimal delay, considering the situation in Serbia and the world – Mihajlovic said.
