Farmer Sells a Ton of Carrots in eMarket's First Hour – What's Available at Electronic Stalls

The Ministry of Agriculture announced this Saturday, April 11, that, in the first hour, on Friday, when Serbia's eMarket started operating online, a farm from Trstenik sold a ton of carrots.

In the same hour, the company which supplies store chains bought early fresh vegetables and dairy products for half a million dinars from small farms.

The press release says that, on the first day of operations of the electronic green market, 771 food producers registered.

More than 19,000 people visited eMarket on Friday. This service acts as substitute for traditional green markets and wholesale facilities, which are closed in Serbia due to the coronavirus pandemic crisis.

– By browsing through products offered at eMarket, everyone can directly order goods from the producer itself, who also delivers them to the home address, or uses a courier service for that purpose – the Ministry of Agriculture announced.
