During the state of emergency caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the Government of Serbia may initiate a process of additional borrowing by taking out loans, issuing government bonds in the financial market and providing state guarantees in the amounts higher than those defined by the Budget Law.

This is said in the decree adopted by the Government of Serbia on April 6, co-signed by the president of Serbia. The decree was published on April 7 in the Official Gazette and came into effect on the date of the publication.

This document, as said, regulates the procedures to be carried out to the end of financing the budget deficit, maintaining the current liquidity and securing the necessary funds for financial support and measures for abating the economic effects of the pandemic, as well as providing guarantees of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency.
