New record in number of text messages sent through all three mobile operators in Serbia

- During the New Year's Eve, record number of SMS and MMS messages were sent through the mobile telephony networks in Serbia - mobile operators announced.
In the network of "Telekom Srbija", the citizens of Serbia exchanged over 115m SMS and MMS messages on December 31st and January 1st, which is 75% more than last year. Between 8 PM on December 31st, 2009, and 8 AM on January 1st, 2010, over 51m messages were exchanged, while more than 17m SMS messages were sent through MTS network around midnight.
During the New Year's Eve celebration, total of 28.2m text messages were delivered through "Telenor's" network in Serbia, which is 19% more than last year.
- Total of 38,103,343 SMS and MMS messages were sent through the network of the youngest operator in Serbia on the last day of December 2009 and the first day of January 2010, which is 191% more than last year - company "Vip mobile" announced.
In the New Year's Eve, between 8 PM on December 31st and 8 AM on January 1st, over 10m wishes were exchanged. Only in the period of the most intensive traffic, between the midnight and 2 AM, 3.2m messages were sent through "Vip" network. "Vip" was well-prepared for significantly bigger traffic, so that all the messages were delivered on time.
