Direct charter flights between Belgrade and Cuba starting May 2010?

- Direct charter flights between Belgrade and Havana may be introduced in May 2010 - the First Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba to Belgrade, Gilfredo Milanes Molina, announced.

He said in the interview for the holiday issue of "Privredni pregled" that the plan included introduction of two charter flights per month and that it was taken in consideration by several Serbian tourist agencies led by "Kon Tiki".

Molina estimated that Serbia and Cuba were at the new start of development of economic cooperation and that there were also possibilities for cooperation in pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and tourism.

- Cuba can be very attractive destination for the tourists from Serbia, and it can also import agricultural food products from Serbia - said he and added that about 500 Serbian tourists would spend the New Year's Eve on that Caribbean island.

Molina said that he expected bigger exchange of goods between Cuba and Serbia in 2010 and that the most significant products for import from Cuba could be drugs.
