Belgrade to be candidate for European Capital of Culture 2020

- The Board members of the City Assembly adopted the information last night (December 29th, 2009) on the initiative for submission of Belgrade's candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2020 at the end of 2010. That title has, so far, been won by over 30 cities of Europe - it is stated on the website of "Beoinfo".

– The title is awarded on the period of one year and it represents the most significant project in the field of culture in Europe. It is different from other projects in its scope, duration, visibility and the respect of high standards. It will contribute to cultural, social and economic prosperity of our city – said Ivana Avžner, the Secretary of Culture.

The Board members also adopted the statutes of the Tourism Organization of Belgrade and Veterinarian institution "Veterina Beograd", as well as supplements to the Statute of Clinical hospital "Dr Dragiša Mišović – Dedinje".
