Wizz Air to Extend Suspension of Flights in Serbia until May 1

Wizz Air has announced today that, due to the travel restrictions, it is temporarily closing its Belgrade base and extending the current suspension of incoming and outgoing flights at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and the Nis Constantine the Great Airport until May 1, 2020.

Travel restrictions are a measure against the spreading of the Covid-19 epidemic, the company says.

– In this period, passengers with reservations will be notified automatically by email if their reservation was made directly on wizzair.com or through the airlines' mobile app – Wizz Air says and adds that 120% of the original ticket price will be automatically transferred to the passenger's Wizz account and that the amount will be usable for the purchase of Wizz Air products and services over the next 24 months.

They says that the passengers can also opt for a cash refund, which entails a longer procedure. These passengers will be informed on the necessary steps for a bank transfer or a transfer to a bank card in a separate email.

– In that case, the passengers only have the right to a refund of 100% of the original ticket price – the company says and adds that the passengers who reserved their tickets through travel agencies should address the company they bought the ticket from.

They says that, although the current situation is out of Wizz Air's control, the airline apologizes for the potential inconvenience caused by the travel ban and emphasizes that the safety and welfare of the passengers and the crews are the airline's top priority.

Let us remind that the EX-YU Aviation News portal announced yesterday that Air Serbia and Wizz Air had set April 13 as a preliminary date for the resumption of flights.
