Germans to build recycling factory in Kraljevo - "Medsorga" accepted refurbishment of landfill in Novi Pazar

- German company "Medsorga" is going to build a recycling factory in Kraljevo - the company announced yesterday (December 24, 2009).

- The waste processing units will be built in the existing landfill that should be refurbished by the German partner, while local self-government will provide necessary licenses and consents, as well as infrastructure around the landfill - said Verica Milanović, the CEO of public utility company "Čistoća".

Milanović added that the agreement was made with the German company that the capacity of the unit should be bigger than the needs of Kraljevo and Novi Pazar, which would enable inclusion of new partners from that part of Serbia in order for the project to become regionally significant.

The Protocol on cooperation in construction of the landfill and the waste processing units in Kraljevo was signed on December 22nd in German town of Velena by the delegations of Kraljevo and company "Medsorga". According to the Protocol, "Medsorga" should provide funds for construction of the waste processing units and landfill, in accordance with the standards of European Union.

- The owner of the waste processing unit will be the city of Kraljevo, and the contract between company "Medsorga", Kraljevo and Novi Pazar will be signed on the period of 25 years, with the possibility of its further extension - said Verica Milanović.

In addition to planning, building and financing the waste processing unit, "Medsorga" also accepted the work on refurbishment and recultivation of local landfills in Kraljevo and Novi Pazar, as well as refurbishment of the landfill in Novi Pazar.

The German company will also take part in refurbishment of the railway to Novi Pazar for the sake of reduction of costs of transportation of waste to the landfill in Kraljevo.

The representatives of company "Medsorga" will visit Kraljevo on January 3rd, 2010.
