New armature wire production unit put in operation in "Arma" in Bač - jobs for 100 new workers

"Arma" in Bač, which is owned by stock company "Arma met", has resumed its development by opening the new reinforcing unit. It was put in operation yesterday (December 24, 2009) by Professor Dr. Ilija Ćosić, the Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.

– Today this factory opens a new reinforcing unit, which will satisfy the needs of all building companies in Serbia because it will be producing the armature with the diameter of up to 50 mm. About 100 workers are already working here and producing panel fence - the laminated product that is the real hit, and we expect to "beat" all importers of that type of fence in our country soon. We are, once again, producing tractor cabins for domestic and foreign machines, just like we used to do for combines - said Marko Jovešić, the President of the company's Administrative Board.

As he explained, "Arma" plans to employ another 100 workers in 2010.

This year the company processed over 10,000 tons of wire, and total incomes of over 750m RSD are expected. This company plans to open a factory for processing iron and steel in Iran, through joint investment, and much more.

The CEO of stock company "Arma met", Milun Papić, says that the opening of the state-of-the-arts reinforcing unit in Serbia is not the only innovation introduced by this company in a small place like Bač in the year of the global crisis.

- We have also modernized the existing equipment, created new motor pool, restored and refurbished everything, and the reinforcing unit, the biggest and the most modern of the kind in Serbia, will satisfy complete needs of local building companies, which will result in significantly smaller import of these goods – Papić pointed out.

- These are the new capacities for production of armature wire, straightening and cutting steel. Local building operative will not have to import these products any more. Current business partners know that "Arma met" is, once again, the leader in processing steel and iron, while the new buyers from Serbia, nearby Croatia and former republics of Yugoslavia, which are now independent countries on the territory of the Balkans, contact us again and order our products – Papić points out.
