Public company "Putevi Srbije" put new e-payment system in operation


Starting Monday, drivers can pay the toll on Belgrade - Niš highway without stopping their vehicles. Public company "Putevi Srbije" has put the new system for electronic payment in operation, which utilizes so-called tags, small devices, in vehicles. Tag can be bought in the premises of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia at the price of 3,500 RSD.
According to the words of Milutin Mrkonjić, the Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, only domestic companies were engaged in realization of this project. Payment without stopping is possible at toll stations Bubanj potok, Mali Požarevac, Vodanj, Smederevo, Batočina, Jagodina, Ražanj, Aleksinački rudnici, Aleksinac, Trupale, and the system will also be introduced at toll stations Ćuprija, Paraćin and Pojate in the following period.
It is one of the most modern systems in Europe, and it was designed by Institute "Mihailo Pupin". The project for all toll stations cost about 12m EUR. This system has already been exported to Montenegro and Congo, and the negotiations with another two large countries are in progress.
INCOMEAccording to the words of Milenko Caković, the Toll Collecting Manager, the income of 12.6 billion RSD was registered in the first 11 months of this year. Total of 30.3m vehicles passed through the toll stations in Serbia. Another 2.5m vehicles and the income of 1.1 billion RSD are expected in December.
