Market chain "Piccadilly" in Bulgaria, which has been bought by Belgrade-based company "Delta Maxi", is ready to offer more products from Serbia to the market of that neighboring country.
- "Piccadily" is not going to ask local manufacturers to pay the fee for entering that market chain - it was said at the meeting in the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, which was attended by the representatives of companies "Piccadilly" and "Delta Maxi", the Minister of Trade and Services of Serbia, Slobodan Milosavljević, as well as the representatives of Serbian companies that are interested in cooperation with the Bulgarian company.
- About 150 of total of 21,000 articles in "Piccadilly" supermarkets are from Serbia, and that number can be much bigger since Bulgarian manufacturers are interested in Serbian products – said Aleksandar Čamparević, the CEO of "Piccadilly".
He mentioned brands "Yuhor", "Kondivu", "Centroproizvod", "Banini" and "Gala" as the examples of companies that successfully sell their products in "Piccadilly".
The CEO of company "Delta Maxi", Dragan Filipović, said that company was also developing its market chains in Albania, Montenegro and the Republic of Srpska, and that it was willing to help local manufacturers find the market for their products.
- We have invested 100m EUR in Bulgaria over the last two years, and we plan to invest 300m EUR within the next four years – said Filipović.
It was pointed out at the meeting that it was also necessary for Serbian manufacturers to find distributors in Bulgaria, and not only to rely on sale of their products through the storages of "Delta Maxi".
The Minister of Trade and Services of Serbia, Slobodan Milosavljević, said that his ministry was willing to organize the "Week of Serbian Products in Piccadilly" manifestation in Bulgaria in spring 2010, in association with the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS), in order for the buyers in that neighboring country to get more familiar with Serbian products.
"Tempo" in Bulgaria
- We plan to open the first "Tempo" center in Bulgaria in October 2010, at the surface of 18,000 square meters, in the center of Sofia. Prior to 2013, we are going to open 8 such facilities – said Čamperović.
He says that "Piccadilly" now has 24 facilities, 20 of which are supermarkets and four are so-called corner shops that are similar to Serbian market chain "Mini maxi".
- We will have total of 24 supermarkets and 55 new corner shops all around Bulgaria prior to 2013 – said Filipović.
