Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic has stated that the Republic of Serbia is not considering privatizing Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and that the plan is for it to be owned by the state and to develop and strengthen.

Antic, who attended the 50th anniversary celebration at the Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla (TENT), reminded that TENT and the Hydro Power Plant Djerdap had made a crucial contribution to the industrial development of Serbia and former Yugoslavia, it is said on the government's website.

He added that EPS was investing in the modernization of the facilities in order to meet environmental standards and that it had invested EUR 475 million in ecology projects in the preceding years, with the value amounting to close to EUR 1 billion counting the ongoing projects.
