IMT, Turkish "Hattat" and Polish "Pol-Mot Holding" to produce modernized tractor "ferguson"

Company IMT has signed the Memorandum of understanding with Turkish company "Hattat" and Polish holding "Pol-Mot". That agreement anticipates joint production of modernized tractor "ferguson". According to the Memorandum, these three companies should jointly produce minimum 3,000 tractors in 2010 and offer them to the markets of Serbia, Turkey, Poland and other countries, primarily in southeast Europe.

- Joint production of the improved tractor of make "masej ferguson" is the first phase in future cooperation between companies IMT, "Hattat" and "Pol-Mot" - the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, pointed out.


Dinkić explained that each company would built in the modernized tractor the best parts it had and offer it to the markets where "ferguson" used to be in high demand.

- That is a good model of future cooperation between Serbian, Turkish and Polish companies, and the plan for the following period is that between 2,000 and 4,000 tractors be produced on annual basis - said Dinkić and pointed out that IMT had sold 2,000 tractors in 2009 thanks to the state's subventions.

He confirmed that the state would keep subsidizing procurement of tractors in 2010, as well as interests on long-term loans for purchase of those agricultural machines.

According to Dinkić, relocation of IMT to Barič, to the location of factory "Prva iskra", is in the pipeline, while current location of the factory in New Belgrade will be sold and used for construction of apartments.

- The funds for modernization of the future hall of IMT are included in the Republic Budget for year 2010 - said Dinkić and pointed out that better times were coming for Serbian tractor industry and that the study on feasibility of joint investment in IMT would be elaborated soon.
