Marchionne in Serbia prior to New Year - Fiat's CEO is coming to Belgrade

High delegation of Italian company "Fiat" will come to Belgrade after December 20th to present the company's business plan to the representatives of the Government of Serbia and invest first 100m EUR in new automotive industry.
According to Giuseppe Zacharia, the spokesperson of "Fiat Group" in Serbia, Sergio Marchionne, the President of the Administrative Board of "Fiat", guaranteed that he would come to Belgrade by the end of the year and show the company's plans.
- The details of all plans, both investment and production, will be known in only few days. It has also been announced that the management will announce which new model of automobile will be assembled in the modernized factory in Kragujevac - says Zacharia.
So far, since March 2009, over 15,000 "punto" automobiles have been produced in the units of factory "Fiat automobili Srbija", while the plans for the next year, which were presented by "Fiat", anticipate production of about 30,000 "punto" vehicles in Kragujevac. By the end of this year, the existing production capacities will be ready to assemble total of 50,000 vehicles.
The State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Nebojša Ćirić, said that nobody in the Government doubted that "Fiat" would fulfill its contractual obligations. The date when the annex to the contract will be signed has not been determined yet, and none of the government officials knows which new model of automobile will be assembled in Serbia for the markets worldwide.
