He added that, if the coronavirus crises ended within the next month, the damage done to the tourism caused by the cancellations could be compensated for.
Ljajic said on TV Prva that no already agreed projects or contracts had been canceled, but that there had been a slight delay in the realization of those agreements, and added that the export of wood and wood materials was slowed down.
He added that an increased sale of certain products had not been recorded in Serbia, as was the case in some parts of Europe due to the fear of a coronavirus epidemic. Ljajic added that he had been told at a meeting with representatives of the largest store chains that the stock of goods was plentiful and that there was no need for citizens to make their own stock.
– No one is minimizing the danger of coronavirus, but there's no need for that kind of panic here. No increase in the sale of certain types of goods has been recorded, and the truth is the best argument in this kind of situation, which is not simple anywhere in the world. The most important thing is to communicate with the citizens, providing timely information – Ljajic said.
Ljajic also said that no flight from Serbia to any destination had been canceled.
