Hungarian "Malev" flies again between Belgrade and Budapest

Hungarian air transportation company "Malev" resumed the flights on Belgrade-Budapest airline yesterday (December 14, 2009).

The Commercial Director of "Malev", Karim Makhlouf, said at the press conference that, after 17-year break, the first airplane of that airliner had landed at the Belgrade airport the day before.

He said that 75% of capacities on the flights in December had already been occupied and that 6,000 reservations had already been made.

According to his words, the plan is that that company, which now flies between Belgrade and Budapest once a day, introduces two more flights a day prior to end of March 2010.

The departure from Belgrade is at 2.55 PM, while the departure from Budapest is at 1.15 PM. The promotive price of the round ticket with all taxes is 99 EUR.

The CEO of "Malev" said that there were package arrangements for the tourists from Belgrade that included two bed&breakfasts in the hotel in Budapest and transportation for total of 130 EUR.

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Miodrag Miljković, said that the aim of the Ministry was to have the airlines to the surrounding countries introduced.

He estimated that the number of passengers at the Belgrade airport would be increased by 20% upon the abolishment of visa regime.

"Malev" is Hungarian national airliner that flies to 50 cities in 33 countries and has 25 airplanes in its fleet.
