Oldest house in Serbian capital, Beli Medved in Zemun, to be reconstructed

Once the contest is completed and the money obtained, a reconstruction and restoration project will be done, which will also show how much money needs to be set aside, Vecernje Novosti writes.
– It is a brick house. It had a double purpose: the upper floor featured apartments, whereas the ground floor, facing the street, featured a coffee house – the Institute says.
Beli Medved was open until the 1960s. An underground brick passage with two branches of 10 and 14 meters was built beneath the building and used as a wine cellar.
It is still not known what the purpose of the reconstructed facility will be. The ground floor is owned by the PE Poslovni Centar Zemun.
