On March 2, Turkey will abolish the visas for residents of six countries visiting Turkey for a period of 90 days in a tourist capacity, the state foreign affairs ministry spokesperson said.

As Tanjug reports, the countries in question are Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and Great Britain.

It is said that the Turkish authorities had implemented visa exemptions looking to boost tourism, entrepreneurship and cultural exchange, but also the state budget.

– The number of foreign tourists grew by 14.11% last year, increasing tourism revenues to USD 34.5 billion – the January report of the Ministry of Tourism of Turkey and the state's Statistics Institute shows.
