"Mercator" opened large retail facility in Podgorica on December 12th

Slovenian company "Mercator" opened the biggest retail center in Montenegro on December 12th in Podgorica.
The CEO of "Mercator-Mex", Ivan Karadžić, said at the press conference that the new retail space of "Mercator" in Podgorica, situated in newly built facility "Mall of Montenegro", would occupy the surface of 4,400 square meters, include over 30,000 articles and employ 100 workers.
The representative of the Management of Ljubljana-based "Mercator", Marjan Nagode, said that that company operated in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Bulgaria at the moment, as well as that it intended to appear in the markets of Macedonia and Albania.
According to Nagode, "Mercator" registered over 2.7 billion EUR worth of turnover in 2008. The company employs over 21,000 people.
During this year, "Mercator" has invested about 160m EUR in expansion of retail network.
The new "Mercator" store is situated in the new trade center built by Turkish company "Gintass". That facility will be opened by the presidents of Montenegro and Turkey, Filip Vujanović and Abdulah Gul, respectively.
