- "Hemofarm" is going to purchase the tender documentation for sale of the capital of "Galenika". It is the offer for sale of the oldest drugs factory in Serbia, which is especially interesting and profitable activity at global scale - Dragomir Ćurčić, the Vice President and a member of the Administrative Board of "Hemofarm", told "Danas".
According to the Government of Serbia, the Privatization Agency should announce a non-binding tender on December 15th for expression of interest in privatization of "Galenika". Based on that tender, it will be clear which companies are interested in the takeover. As the Minister of Economy, Mlađan Dinkić, announced recently, in that first phase of the procedure, the Government wants to see if somebody is interested in strategic partnership with "Galenika", while the primary condition is that the bids of less than 200m EUR for 100% of capital will not be accepted.
- If the bids in the first phase are appropriate, we will announce a binding tender - said Dinkić. He specified that the second phase of the procedure was not going to start before January 2010 because "Galenika" should finish construction of the new factory by that time, which would increase the value of the company.
By the way, "Hemofarm" earlier expressed interest in takeover of "Galenika", but it is speculated in the public that the main competitor on the tender could be Greek "Alapis", which owns "Šumadijalek" in Serbia.
