Volkswagen is again postponing its decision on whether to build a car plant in Turkey, Reuters reports.

– We still have time and can certainly do that (decision) by mid-year – the person familiar with the discussions said.

Volkswagen said in December it would likely decide on the investment in February. They confirmed that they hadn't abandoned the project, but only announced the postponement of the official decision and a joint statement by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

It was announced at the time that the postponement was a consequence of Turkey's military operations in Syria.

Let us remind that, in November 2018, the German car manufacturer announced its intention to build a new factory in East Europe, which would produce, among other things, Skoda Karoq and SEAT Ateca vehicles.
