Company "Industricum", which is believed to include Swiss capital, has bought Mitrovica-based "Matroz" for 2.9m EUR, after seven unsuccessful tenders for sale of that factory.
- The new owner has not paid the price yet, but the funds are not the problem because they are already provided. The payment will be done prior to December 29th, which is also anticipated by the contract. But some ownership-legal issues still need to be resolved in order for the new owner to be able to take over the factory - the President of the Municipal Council of the Association of independent trade unions in Sremska Mitrovica, Stevan Romakov, told Tanjug.
More than 1,000 former workers of "Matroz", who were sent to the labor market after the bankruptcy was declared, hope that their three late salaries will be paid to them by the end of this year.
The Ministry of Economy and company "Industricum" signed the agreement earlier, which also anticipates the investment of 75m EUR in construction of a new factory for aluminum recycling. The Agreement anticipates employment of 250 workers in the factory in the first phase, while another 2,500 people will be employed indirectly.
