Change of Lawyer's Fees Tariff proposed

The Bar Association of Vojvodina has prepared a proposal of changes to the Lawyers' Fees Tariff.

As said in the proposal, the Tariff is adopted by the Board of the Bar Association of Serbia, and one point is worth 30 dinars.

Depending on the potential verdict, the lawyer's fee is:

– for jail sentences of up to 3 years – 550 points
– for jail sentences of over 3 to 5 years – 750 points
– for jail sentences of over 5 to 10 years – 1,000 points
– for jail sentences of over 10 to 15 years – 1,500 points
– for jail sentences of over 15 years – 2,000 points

One of the changes proposed is for the lawyer to get 50% of the fee for the receipt of the decision on the detention of the suspect and for the fee to be increased by 50% in case of activities outside the working hours and on non-working days.

Also, as said, for each unheld main hearing or session of a council the lawyer has joined, the lawyer gets 50% of the fee.
