Refurbishment of water supply network in Loznica resumed - 900,000 EUR for works in first phase

Public company "Vodovod i kanalizacija" from Loznica is included in the second phase of the programme of German Development Bank (KfW) for refurbishment of water supply network in that city.

As CEO Slobodan Todorović explained, according to the estimate of an independent auditor, the company has met all the conditions for the realization of the project to be resumed, within the scope of which 30 kilometers of pipelines will be replaced and the city reservoir and main pumping stations will be refurbished.

Total of 900,000 EUR is obtained for the first phase of the project, while 6m EUR will be granted by the German donor for the second phase of the project, 60% of which is the loan, while the rest is donation.

Todorović said to the press that the reconstruction of four kilometers of water supply network would be done in 2009, while the replacement of 6,000 water meters would be finished in 2010 because of the problem with delivered water meters.
