This solar power plant will produce 41,600 kWh of electricity per year and help ProCredit Bank reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in Serbia by 31.5 tons annually.
– Our bank has been actively promoting and investing in RES and projects of SMEs, farms and properties which aim to improve their energy efficiency for years now. With this solar plant, we wanted to considerably improve our ecological performances on the one hand and to show to companies and producers in Serbia that investments in solar energy are an excellent and very cost-effective business solution – said Ivan Smiljkovic, a member of the Executive Board of ProCredit Bank.
According to him, the solar power plant on the bank's roof is the second such power plant of ProCredit Bank, as a small one of 5 kW has been working in front of the entrance to the bank's central for two years now, being used exclusively to charge electric cars. Also, Smiljkovic adds, ProCredit Bank has more than 70% of electric and hybrid cars with a low emission of the harmful CO2 in its rolling stock, whereas the capacities of the solar plants owned by the bank are twice as big as the vehicles' annual clear energy requirements.
– At the moment when the air pollution in Belgrade and other larger cities is the number one topic, ProCredit Bank not only encourages and incites other through the example it sets, but goes one step further. Nearly half of the green energy produced by our power plants will be given for free to drivers of all electric or hybrid cars, who can charge their cars with clean, green energy at our central at any time of the day. Also, ProCredit Bank intends to intensify its investments in RES in 2020 and to provide an even more thorough support to everybody who's interested in that kind of investment. For that reason, our bank, in cooperation with its business partners, importers and distributors of solar systems, is preparing a very attractive offer for the procurement of the equipment and the installation of smaller solar power plants, meant for companies, farms and natural persons. It will be a very favorable offer, which we will officially present very soon, along with interest-free credits, a long guarantee period and all the necessary expert support – Smiljkovic explained.
