Construction of Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac to start in March 2010

- Construction of the Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac, of which students are currently attending classes in nine different locations, should commence in March 2010, and the estimated value of the project is 450m RSD - Predrag Pantić, the Head of the Investment Realization Department in the City Administration for Investments and Development of Kragujevac, told "eKapija".

- Future building will be situated beneath the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economy, next to the gym of the Kragujevac Second Grammar School. The facility will occupy the surface of about 8,500 square meters, and it will have basement, ground floor and three floors. Library, Student Services and a cafe-restaurant will be settled in the basement, while the premises for administration, deanery and secretariat will be situated on the ground floor. Classes will be held on all three floors - Pantić explained.

According to his words, the City of Kragujevac has provided the land and 100m RSD, while the rest of the money should be obtained from the National Investment Plan or the authorized ministry.

- We have applied for the funds from NIP as a local project, as well as for the funds of the Ministry of Education as a national project. If we obtain 100m RSD from NIP, realization of the first phase will start right away, and it will include provision of minimum conditions for functioning of the faculty. The second possibility is that we obtain 350m RSD from the Ministry of Education, which would be enough, along with the money provided by the City, to cover the whole investment.

Elaboration of the main project by Belgrade-based studio "Beo Potez" is underway, and the value of the documentation is 5m RSD, which have been provided by the City of Kragujevac. According to Pantić, the project should be finished prior to the New Year.
