Bačka at turning point thanks to small "Davos"

- Western Bačka has plenty to offer to investors and that region of Serbia has enough potential for further economic development - this is the conclusion from the first Economic Forum "Bačka 09", which was held on Friday, November 27th, in Kula.
The Forum was realized at the initiative of the entrepreneurs from the whole region and the municipality of Kula, which organized it.
As a modern instrument for improvement of economic development and inflow of investments, the Forum (the organizers believe it will become traditional) has the task to create the base for new uplift of general economic prosperity of the country and Western Bačka.
The Forum was opened by Nebojsa Janjić, the Assistant to the Minister of Environment Protection and Spatial Planning, and attended by numerous representatives of local and regional self-governments, investors, embassies, banks, chambers, expert-development organizations and national and local media.
- For the first time ever, the economy is self-organized and activated, and the Town Hall of Kula and local self-governments in the region are only a service, because we believe the the moment is right for this step" - said Velibor Milojicic, the President of the Town Hall of Kula and a member of the Forum's Organizational Board.
Branislav Bugarski, the CEO of the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund (VIP Fund), pointed out that it was of exceptional importance for the dialogue to start between the municipalities, as well as between the municipalities and the economy, that is, investors, both local and foreign ones.
The first Economic Forum of Bačka was realized through three panel discussions with the themes of general interest to the whole state and the entrepreneurs in the region: "Strategic Position: Building Land, Urbanization and Ecology", sustainable development through the perspective of investment potentials of agribusiness and rural economy, and competitiveness (possible ways of finance and "new investment map"). - This meeting represents an excellent opportunity for promotion of the region as a potential place for investments and new business contacts. Every development of local community contributes to better business climate and development of infrastructure, and it creates better business conditions for all - said Jelena Jurić, the Director General of company "Jaffa".
The Forum's Organizational Board included Velibor Milojičić, the President of the Town Hall of Kula, Jelena Jurić, the CEO of company "Jaffa" Crvenka, Imre Blaško, the CEO of building company "Blaško", Branko Durutović, the CEO of public utility company "Komunalac" from Kula, and Đorđe Laluja, the CEO of Kula-based company "Stork".
