The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, has stated that he expects the letter of intent to be signed today, January 20, between the Ministry of Economy of Serbia and Lufthansa, which would enable the relaunching of the airline between Belgrade and Pristina after 20 years.

As he said on RTS, the line could be launched “after the customs fees on goods from central Serbia are removed” and after the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina continues.

The signing of the letter of intent, Djuric emphasized, would be the first symbolic step toward reviving this airline after 20 years.

– We would thereby be able to have flights on this route in the future, in addition to the 12 bus lines which regularly connect Belgrade and Pristina – Djuric said.

According to him, the officials from Belgrade will notify UNMIK and KFOR of this intent. He reminded that these missions are in charge of control and coordination of Serbia's airspace in Kosovo on behalf of Serbia under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement.
