Swine Artificial Insemination Center soon in Vrbas - cooperation between German and Vojvodina's institutions

The first Swine Artificial Insemination Center in Vojvodina will soon be opened in Vrbas. The investment by a swine breeding company from German province of Baden-Virtenberg has been realized in association with the University of Hohenheim and the Novi Sad Faculty of Agriculture, with the expert support of VIP Fund.

VIP Fund has been providing expert support in realization of this significant project from the very beginning. The project is not only an investment and the opportunity for creation of new jobs, but also the chance for improvement of poor condition of cattle breeding sector in Vojvodina and Serbia. Due to reduction of breeding material and intensity of selection, the primary manufacturers today have very few options to buy quality domestic cattle. Founding of the Artificial Insemination Center will create the opportunity for purchase of semen, as well as other advantages such as larger number of fattened pigs and better conversion.

Swine breeding association "Saustark" from Baden - Virtenberg is one of the largest and the most modern organization of the kind in Germany. In addition to the fact that it sells fattened pigs, this association also owns three large farms for breeding boars and laboratories that are equipped in accordance with the world's highest standards. The facilities where boars will be kept and the laboratory of the Vrbas-based Center will also be equipped according to the highest standards that the German association also applies to its headquarters in Baden - Virtenberg.

In addition, the Artificial Insemination Center will sign the contract on business-technical cooperation with the Novi Sad Faculty of Agriculture, which will provide an excellent practical base for the Faculty, while the students from the Department of Cattle Breeding and the Department of Veterinary Medicine will get the opportunity to do the apprenticeship in the Center.
