Much too high margin for mortgage loans

In the third quarter of the year, the interest margin on mortgage loans in EUR and CHF was reduced only by Piraeus Bank.
In the same period, the consumer loans in RSD were made cheaper only by Banca Intesa, while the interest rates on cash loans were lowered by Credit Agricole Bank and NLB Bank.
In the third quarter of year 2009, the offers of 16 banks included mortgage loans with the interest rates expressed as referential interest rate plus margin, while nine banks offered the loans with the interest rate that was brought in accord with the business policy.
When it comes to margins, they range between 2.9% (Privredna Banka Beograd) and 9.5% (OTP Bank) for the loans in EUR. Only two banks increased their margins in the third quarter of this year - Credy Bank and OTP Bank, while two banks reduced them in the same period - Eurobank EFG and Raffeisen Bank.
As far as the loans in CHF are concerned, Alpha Bank has the highest margin - 8.5%, while the lowest margin of 2.9% is in Privredna Banka Beograd. Only three banks of all the banks that bring their interest rates in accord with the business policy have lowered their interest rates since June 30th - Erste Bank, Piraeus Bank and Volksbank.
