World Bank rewarded project by Novi Sad-based "Sunce" for destroying cyanobacteria in fishponds

- The project by company "Sunce" from Novi Sad for destroying cyanobacteria in fishponds was rewarded with 199,000 USD at the "Development Marketplace" event organized by the World Bank - the World Bank announced today (November 16, 2009).
That project was one of 1,755 projects at the event that was held between November 10 and 13, 2009, in Washington.
The project was submitted by Pavle Zelić, while the idea was developed in association with Zorica Svirčev, a professor at the Novi Sad Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
The aim of the awarded project is to decrease presence of toxins that produce cyanobacteria in the commercially manufactured fish meat.
According to the announcement, this process can be applied anywhere where the problem of water quality affects fish breeding.
