"FSC Chain of Custody" (CoC) is international certification system that guarantees that paper and wooden products that bear FSC sign are made in a socially responsible way that does not endanger environment. This certification implies tracking of FSC-certified fibers from the forest to the consumer through all successive phases of processing, transformation, production and distribution. Therefore, FSC sign represents the guarantee that the final product can be tracked back to the very source that must be approved in advance.
The certificate was handed by the Director General of SGS, Marinko Ukropina, in the presence of numerous business associates, as well as Matias Kaindl, the owner of the world's largest group for production of wood panels "Kronospan", and Sharon Valentine, the Deputy Director of USAID's Project for Development of Competitiveness of Serbia that backed company "Pinoles" in the certification process.
Following the implementation and obtaining of certificate for ISO 9001:2000 standard, company "Pinoles" started realization of the project for introduction of FSC COC standard. Renowned certification company SGS from Johannesburg, with the headquarters in Geneva, was selected to carry out the control, and it confirmed that company "Pinoles", thanks to good organization and adequate supervision, had met all the criteria to obtain that certificate.
