The consortium comprising City of Belgrade and public utility company "Gradska čistoća" bought the business building of "Inex Interexport" in Kraljice Marije Street on Friday for 1 billion and 30,000 RSD.
The opening of the bids was finished very quickly since this consortium was the only potential buyer of 12,900 square meters of office space. The sales contract is to be signed during the next week.
- One square meter costs about 820 EUR, so that the City is satisfied with the fact that it will obtain office space to accommodate all of its agencies at very favorable price. The whole price will be paid prior to December 21st, when the deadline for payment expires – said Strahinja Sekulić, the City Attorney, who represented the consortium before the Privatization Agency.
He explained that the City participated with 400m RSD (40%) in the purchase of "Inex" building, which had been provided from the 2008 budget surplus, while public utility company "Gradska čistoća" would provide the rest of the money (60%) from its own profit. Sekulić said that all tenants in the building would have to move out within "certain period of time that is not long", but he could not specify exactly when that would happen.
The President of the City Assembly, Aleksandar Antić, says that the purchase of "Inex" building will enable more efficient administration, rental of major share of city property, as well as repayment of the investment in three to four years.
An apartment in Ilije Stojadinovića Street and passenger automobile "zastava yugo" were sold in the "package" with the building of "Inex".
