"Siemens" to provide solutions for energy-efficient future of Serbia

At the conference dedicated to the energy efficiency, which is organized within the scope of the Day of Germany 2009, "Siemens" presented broad portfolio of products that protect environment and improve efficient production, transfer and consumption of energy.

Dušan Muškatirović, the Manager of Energy Sector in Serbia-based office of "Siemens", presented the activities of company "Siemens" in the field of energy efficiency at the yesterday's conference.

- The awareness of significance of efficient use of energy in Serbia is still at relatively low level. That is why we have started the campaign for promotion of energy efficiency and environment protection, which included presentation of solutions for better quality of life of all of us in seven major cities in Serbia - Muškatirović pointed out.

It was pointed out at the meeting that the Government of Germany stronly supported Serbia in its efforts to modernize energy sector and ensure safer and ecological supply of energy to the citizens, so that over 350m EUR had been set aside since 2001 for the energy projects focused on energy efficiency and environment protection.

In addition, several credit lines channeled through local banks make it possible for small and mid-sized enterprises to invest in smaller energy-efficiency projects. GTZ, German Organization for Technical Assistance, promotes energy saving and energy efficiency in the context of public utility services, especially the waste, plumbing and sewerage management with the aim of improving the quality of buildings and street lighting.

GTZ also backs the Ministry of Energy and Mining in its efforts to bring legal regulations that concern energy efficiency in accord with the standards of European Union.

"Siemens" has energy-efficient solutions for almost every segment of our life, including advanced power supply facilities, the infrastructure of "smart" buildings, energy-saving light bulbs and waste water treatment units.
