Mercator and City Management of Novi Sad have agreed - the building of the hypermarket finally starts

After two and a half years of negotiations, finally they have reached an agreement. That is, the Slovenians bought a parcel something bigger than one hectare and on an exclusive location next to the NIS building, as early as in spring of 2003, and the problem appeared when Mercator asked for permission to build a parking lot not only in basement but on the ground floor as well, while the city planners insisted on the existing city plan that did not allow that.

Finally, the director of the Public Company for City Planning, Aleksander Jeftic, has announced that they have agreed on compromise. The garages that were foreseen on the ground floor of the business center stay, but the purpose of the ground floor has been changed into a business object with a free access space.
